“Trees and sky reflected in Sage’s Ravine Brook” by my friend Richard Wanderman, on Flickr. Pentax Ricoh IMAGING GR. Connecticut/Massachusetts border, Appalachian Trail, August 19, 2013. Richard says, “We went on a great hike from Bear Mountain, Connecticut to Mt. Race, Massachusetts, passing through Sage’s Ravine on the way. We’ve done it many times before but it never gets old, it’s a great hike. Nice reflections in the brook in Sage’s Ravine.”

Fern Ridge Reservoir by my friend Gary Sharp, on Flickr. Pentax Ricoh GR. Oregon. Gary says, “Along the drive between Eugene and Veneta, Oregon. I’m liking all that extra detail a lot! I’ve not had much time with the GR yet, but am very impressed with it. It’s an amazing small camera.”

“Food and Wine day out Cardiff Bay-6″, Wales, by my friend Terry White, on Flickr. Fujifilm FinePix S9600, July 9, 2011. Terry caught these three brightly colored sunlit kayaks against the complementary blue of the water, right on the edge of a deeply shaded background. I really like his use of color and composition here.

Race Brook Falls, CT by my friend Richard Wanderman, on Flickr. Ricoh GR. Richard says, “This day Race Brook was as high as I’ve ever seen it and the two crossings were very tough. The base of this waterfall is another crossing and I took this right in the middle of it. The spray wasn’t too bad and it was a beautiful, clear day so the Ricoh GR wasn’t in danger of getting wet.”

Snowy Egret, Van Nuys, California by my friend Richard Wanderman, on Flickr. Richard wrote, “Japanese Garden … This little egret had this wild iris area all to himself and was fishing for small fish when we came by. He put on quite a show, moving around the small area to avoid us but also to get the best place to fish.”
