"Try These"


Cincinnati Three-Way Chili


Serves 6-8

On its own this chili is great, but it's even better as a "three-way"-- over spaghetti and topped with cheddar cheese.


1 quart hot water
2 lbs. ground beef
1 12 oz. can tomato paste
1 large onion
3 tbsp. chili powder
3 bay leaves
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. freshly ground pepper
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. white wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 lb. freshly cooked spaghetti
1 cup grated cheddar cheese


Pour water into large saucepan. Crumble beef. Add next 13 ingredients. Simmer 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Discard Bay leaves. (Can be prepared 1 month ahead and frozen)

Place spaghetti on serving platter. Pour chili over. Top with cheese. Serve immediately.
