Garden of Eden solution - solve by truth tables

(a) Only one person answered all questions truthfully. (b) All others told some lies. (c) No two told the same number of lies.

STEP ONE - in turn, assume each of the 5 is telling the truth

The person who told no lies must be the person telling the truth about who ate the apple, since they too finger the apple eater.
Abel told at least one lie., since both Cain and the snake did not both eat the apple.
So far, the snake, Cain and Abel all told at least one lie. Either Adam or Eve is tellling the truth.
If Adam is telling the truth, all the others told at least 2 lies, so it appears Eve is telling the truth.
assumption (A): Eve telling the truth, snake can't see over the hedge, Cain is favorite son Fits all the criteria
assumption (B): Eve telling the truth, snake can see over the hedge, Abel is favorite son Two people are telling 2 lies
